FODIS

Friends of Downs Infant School (FODIS) is a committee of parents and carers that organises many events and clubs at school in order to raise funds to buy equipment and playground resources.
Over the past few years FODIS has raised a considerable amount of money – over the past 4 years £10-15,000 has, on average, been raised every year. This money enables us to spend money on equipment and extras for the school and the children, whether it is plants for the garden, or shade sails for the playground.
We would not be able to do this without enormous help from parents. We always need help throughout the year, but especially for events. If you can spare an hour or two at an event or maybe on a more long-term basis e.g. gardening, then please get in touch with one of the committee or speak to your class rep.

Fodis is funding the quiet area between the reception and second year playgrounds.

New Fence
Shade sails
wooden play boat
An incubator
Mexican workshop

We have recently paid for a new fence to be erected by Hedgehog class.This means the children will be able to play safely on the grassy areaby the Indoor Garden.

These sails offer UV protection for the children as well as shade and at present are in the Reception playground.
